It's been 5
months since my last update, so lots of news. Read at your leisure!
- Haircut
- as you can see from my new photo, I am all cleaned up. I miss
my hair, but after 3 years of it, I was ready to get back to something
that didn't get all over the bathroom floor. However, now I realize
that I have to get my hair cut every 6 weeks! Funny.
- Broadband
- I finally have broadband access (DSL) at my home! Hooray! This
will inspire me to work on my website(s). Not only do I have this
site, but I have two other projects that I want to complete. See
my projects list below.
- The Kitties
- New pics of the "kids" are up and running. Enjoy
them.
- Still
Single - yep, still "no woman, no cry." However,
I did put up a personal
ad on match.com. I don't put too much hope in it, but it was
a fun exercise. We'll see what happens. I'm sure some of you will
let me know how you feel about it's content - all feedback welcome
;).
- New Cell
Phone
- I got a new bluetooth cell phone and
headset, which I love!
- Computer
Upgrades
- I really want to replace my current computer, but in order to
extend it's life another 6 months or so, I made a
bunch of upgrades.
- Upcoming
Projects - this year, I want to focus on my priorities. Other
than my physical/emotional/spiritual health (I'll update my Mission
Statement page soon), I have some creative projects I will be
focusing on. They include:
- cozyreader.com
- a website dedicated to helping bibliophiles (book lovers)
build their home libraries. I'm hoping to build a small community
around it, including bulletin boards - my friends Art
and Brian
are going to help me use phpbbs to do it (guess I need a unix
server now ;)
- singlestuff.net
- well, I've always had these ideas about some cool tshirts
etc. that I wanted to create for singles. I figure I'll create
them, put a little cash into advertising, and see what happens.
This is not a long-term interest, but it'll be fun. I'll be
selling stuff on this site and on cozyreader via cafepress,
a cool company that lets you submit your artwork (your logo
or whatever), and they put it on just about anything (tshirts,
boxers, coffee cups, frisbees). What's even better, their
server manages all the shopping cart stuff. No hardcore coding
or databases on my side at all!
- My
books
- I have been wanting to write some books for quite a while.
I have at least two that are partially done. One is a short
comedic work tentatively called "The Slackers Guide to
Working." The second is a serious volume on recovery
from spiritual abuse. If this title interests you, there are
already some great books out there, including Toxic
Faith and Healing
Spiritual Abuse.
- The
Band
- well, we're still practicing our blues/rock covers. We have
about 40 songs, and we're almost ready to start playing out
- probably February. I'll let you know when we're good enough
to come see :)
- Digitizing
the Family Movies - my mom gave me the 50 hours worth
of film that my grandad took. I'm going to digitize it, edit
it, and boil it down to 4 hours to put on DVDs for the whole
family. All before next Christmas!
